In March of 2021, she was named “One of the 50 Most Inspiring People and Companies According to Industry Creatives” published by AdWeek.
You can visit Lisa’s popular shop here on her website or at Cargo Emporium in Portland Oregon. When she's not making art, you can find her racing her bike around Oregon. She lives and works in Portland.

MILKSHAKE
You might notice a little white dog appearing in a lot of Lisa’s work, including the kids book, Rain. That’s her pup Milkshake, who spends a lot of time in the studio. Milkshake loves squeaky toys, raw vegetables and running loose in the countryside. Milkshake doesn’t like delivery men, going to the groomer or big dogs (except for doodles – she loves all the doodles).
Bikes
Lisa loves bikes and she races them all over the country. You can find her spinning around Portland on her road bike and racing down dirt hills in more rugged parts of Oregon on her gravel bike (which is also covered in her artwork). Lisa’s happy place is the intersection between bikes and art and she loves working with bike brands and causes.
Baking
Besides cycling, Lisa’s second favorite hobby is baking. She loves making sourdough bread, in particular. Feeding her sourdough starter is part of her regular routine, even when she’s too busy to bake a loaf of bread. She also likes making cookies and other treats that she can eat when she is hungry after riding her bike.
Folk Art
One of Lisa’s greatest influences is folk art from around the world. You’ll see lots of folk influence in her work in the form of quilt imagery, the use of symbols, and a very spare color palette. Her greatest art influence is Alexander Girard, who was also influenced by folk art in his work. Like Girard, she takes traditional folk art and transforms it into modern design.
Late bloomer
Lisa didn’t start making art until she was in her thirties and didn’t begin her career until she was nearly forty. Before Lisa was an artist, she taught elementary school and then for many years, she was a project manager at two different non-profit organizations. She is grateful for the time she had doing other jobs before becoming an artist, because she learned so much about time management, sticking to a schedule and working with people.
