Who is Lisa Congdon and what does she know?
Lisa didn’t begin drawing or painting until she was 31 years old. Except for a handful of painting and drawing classes, she is almost entirely self-taught. Lisa is now 49 years old, and in the 10 years since Lisa began pursuing art as her livelihood, she has built a vibrant career, working with over 70 illustration and licensing clients and numerous galleries to showcase her work, authoring seven of her own books, including Art Inc: The Essential Guide to Building Your Career as an Artist, and making over 8000 sales of over 20,000 items in her popular online Etsy shop (opened in 2007). She has had the top-selling classes on the online learning platform Creativebug for the past four years. Lisa has years of successful experience in selling her work to a diverse audience, building a fanbase for her work through her blog and social media, and working in the worlds of retail, illustration, licensing, and fine art. She was named one of 40 Women Over 40 to Watch in 2015.
