These 100% pure linen tea towels are naturally more absorbent and stronger than cotton, and will get softer with use over time. Ever so versatile, you can use it for a multitude of everyday tasks – as a placemat, kitchen décor, gift wrap, or to dry dishes and leafy greens. Because they’re so versatile, you can use them anywhere from your kitchen to your workspace and even your bathroom!

My Wallpaper in Gorgeous Spaces

after2

{The kitchen of Daniel Kanter of Manhattan Nest}

You may recall that last fall wallpaper company Hygge and West launched my new line of wallpaper. It includes the Triangle pattern (above), Ferns and Bohemian. Designing wallpaper might be one of the most exciting jobs I’ve ever had. Just last week Hygge and West launched removable wallpaper tiles, which are easy to remove without leaving any residue – ideal for temporary installations. They are also perfect for renters and high traffic areas and projects that would be difficult with traditional wallpaper. Daniel of Manhattan Nest, who rents an apartment in New York, recently used the yellow and black Triangle tiles to wallpaper his kitchen, and wrote about the experience here on his blog, including “in process” photos!

The removable tiles come in the black and yellow pattern, grey and pink, and black and white. Thank you Daniel!! It looks amazing.

In other news, Makeshift Society, my favorite co-working space in San Francisco, used rolls of my charcoal and gold Triangle pattern on one of their walls (pictured below). I can’t wait to head over there and take a look at it in person!

If you love either the removable tiles OR the rolls of my wallpaper, you can purchase all of it here. Rumor has it Daniel is hosting a giveaway for the removable tiles on his blog very soon! Not sure about color or scale? Ask Hygge and West to send you samples (just use the drop down menu).

Have a great Tuesday, friends.

My Cloud9 Fabric Collection :: Coming Spring 2013!

I’m so incredibly happy to announce the release of my fabric collection for Cloud9! The collection is called The Land that Never Was, and it’s based on my a fantastical world I created in gouache paint and Micron pens. Images of the collection were released today (you can see snippets of the entire collection above). It’s going into production now, and it will be available for purchase in the Spring of 2013.

I collaborated with the amazing &, exceptionally talented Michelle Engel Bencsko, co-founder and lead designer at Cloud9, on the entire collection. We’ve been working on the designs together for six months. And I am so happy with how each one evolved! And believe me: designing a fabric line is a process — of back and forth, refining and finessing. I have such an appreciation for the craft now. And I’m so glad to now be part of the industry.

Thank you, Cloud9, for giving me this opportunity!

Tomorrow on the blog: a recap of the Professional Illustration class I taught last night. It was really a lot of fun.

My New Hygge and West Wallpaper is HERE!

Friends, I am so excited to announce the launch of my first-ever wallpaper line! Those of you who follow me on Twitter have heard me hint at the line I’ve been developing for Hygge and West over the past several months. Well, it’s finally here, and I’m thrilled to share it with you! Grace from Design*Sponge also posted about this morning and you can see her post here (thank you, Grace!).

First up: the “Triangle” pattern (seen above)!

It comes in three color ways:

Next up, we have the the “Fern” pattern!

This pattern comes in three color ways as well.

And finally, “Bohemian” which is a crazy all-over pattern that I LOVE.

Close-up (gold):

Also comes in a subtle grey!

I want to thank Christiana & Aimee of Hygge and West for making this one of the most fantastic projects on which I’ve ever worked. They were a delight to work with every step of the way!

You can purchase any of this wallpaper here on Hygge and West’s website. Spread the word, and thank you as always for supporting my work!

Harvest Repeats

Getting ready to show my portfolio at my agent’s book at Surtex this year and found these kitchen patterns I made a couple of years ago! I’d forgotten about them. I love digging up old work.

I ♥ Fruits & Veggies!

I’ve been so busy with commissioned illustration work lately that I haven’t had a chance to make any repeat patterns, which is one of my favorite things to do. This is one I illustrated this past fall, and it’s available for license!

In other news, I’ve updated the AIDS//LifeCycle training and fundraising blog that Clay and I are keeping. In it, I share a few more details of our engagement story up in Cloverdale. Take a look if you are interested!

Yay for Repeat Patterns

I’m super excited about the pattern making frenzy I was on a couple weeks ago (making repeats is so much fun!). I’ve had to take a hiatus from it for the past 10 days to focus on a children’s book that I’m illustrating (the sketches are due tomorrow), but I’ll be back at it this coming week. Wishing you an awesome Thursday.
